IGBE: Language Workshop Part 2/2

Aim: to learn more about language, unconscious bias and career choice to support you in becoming a more inclusive STEM Ambassador.

In part two of this series of training sessions focusing on language and unconscious bias, the Improving Gender Balance and Equalities (IGBE) team from Education Scotland will take STEM Ambassadors through the following topics:

• Assumptions about jobs and influence of unconscious bias
• Pronouns
• Barriers to pursuing STEM
• What can you do?
• Reflective discussion  - does unconscious bias affect what they might suggest/say to young people?

We like the sessions to be as interactive as possible so please come prepared to answer questions and participate in discussions.  There will be opportunity to share your exepriences and ideas throughout the session as well.
