PVG Information
The Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) is a membership scheme managed by Disclosure Scotland. The idea of a PVG helps to ensure those whose behaviour makes then unsuitable to work with Children or vulnerable adults can not do regulated work with these groups.
Obtaining a PVG is a mandatory part of becoming a STEM Ambassador.
Whether this is your first PVG as a STEM Ambassador or you are renewing the process is the same.

The process

The PVG application process from Disclosure Scotland is now fully online. You must only apply for your PVG membership through us and not directly with Disclosure Scotland.

STEM Ambassador Hub staff will contact you to check two forms of ID from you. We then send your details to Disclosure Scotland.

Disclosure Scotland will email you directly with a link to complete your online application – you will have 14 days from receiving this link to complete your application.

Following the successful completion of the Disclosure Checks by Disclosure Scotland, they will issue you a certificate by post, and we will receive our
own copy of this. We will update your STEM Ambassador account, and email you to confirm that you are officially a volunteer with us.
