About the Event

Explore seaweed with the Marine Conservation Society and learn how to take part in our citizen science project in partnership with the Natural History Museum – The Big Seaweed Search.

The unexplored world of seaweed offers a look at the impact of climate change on our coastline, including the effects of rising sea temperatures and the arrival of invasive species. This simple survey guide will allow you to record vital data on key species to be analysed.

This session will involve a 45 minute presentation on marine life and seaweed species, survey methodology and how to lead a group session – followed by a short quiz and Q&A opportunity.

There will be the option to join a practical follow-up session to try out your new skills at the beach on a date tbc in September from 6pm (location to be decided)
