About the Event

For this year's Book Week Scotland, join the team at STEM Ambassadors Scotland as they read from Curiosity the Story of a Mars Rover.

Meet Mason Robbins astronaut candidate and Education Officer at saxoford Spaceport to find out about how rockets work and why they are useful and learn how to make your own straw rockets.

During the session we will:

  • Read a section from Curiosity The Story of a Mars Rover (10 -15 mins)

  • Hear from Mason about working in a Spaceport and how and why we use rockets (10 - 15 mins)

  • Show you how to make your own straw rockets
