About the Event

During Book Week Scotland (14-20 November), through the Read, Write, Count programme every child in Primary 2-3 in Scotland receives a free bag with books, educational games and writing materials. This is a great opportunity for STEM Ambassadors to get involved, helping to link literacy with STEM.

During this training session you will learn more about the Read, Write, Count initiative and ideas about how you can get involved by linking your own experiences with the Read, Write, Count books and activities as well as supporting gifting events in schools. You will also have the opportunity to participate in 'Bringing Storybooks to life' training, which will improve your confidence in reading books aloud, using stories across the curriculum and include recommended reads linked to STEM themes.

Finally, there will be information on what you can do next to support schools.
