About the Event
This is a new three-part training opportunity in collaboration with the 'Skills Builder Partnership' for STEM Ambassadors. The aim of the training is to provide STEM Ambassadors with the knowledge to identify and develop their own transferrable skills which will support their future employability as well as their volunteering.Â
The Skills Builder Programme supports the building of essential employability skills. through a ‘roadmap’ for skills development. It breaks down eight essential skills into 16 teachable and measurable steps, providing a common set of expectations and a roadmap for progression. This enables participants to recognise their own essential skill levels and work to master them over time. The Framework can provide a language for participants to articulate this progress, helping to develop employability skills and prepare participants for future careers.
This is a great opportunity for STEM Ambassadors to participate in free training. There are three sessions that take place from July to September and STEM Ambassadors should aim to attend all three sessions:Â
Session 1, Wed 13 July 09.00 - 10.00: Introduction
Session 2, Wed 10 August 09.00 - 10.00: Skills Builder and I
Session 3, Wed 7 September 09.00 - 10.00: Skills Builder and Volunteering
The workshops introduce STEM Ambassadors to the Skills Builder Partnership and the Universal Framework, demonstrating how to upskill their own skill sets and how to add value to their volunteering.
Workshops are being offered regionally to highlight employers, schools and other organisations which are already using Skills Builder across the region.
