About the Event

We are looking for Engineers and other STEM professional to support a project running in 3 secondary schools near Glasgow. The project runs from Sep 2025 to May/June 2026.


Solarpunk Island aims to allow young people to solve problems and use their skills to survive and thrive on a desert island. We have incorporated STEM into this and aim to show how important engineering is in solving any scale of problem - from dirty water to finding shelter.


The 3 schools are Greenfaulds High, Park Mains High and St Andrew's RC Secondary. Teams from each school are working on this project on a weekly basis, some as part of a lunchtime club and others incorporated into an environmental science course.


STEM Ambassadors will be expected to visit their team in-person once a term (3 times in total between now and the showcase in May 2026) - this could be to…
