About the Event
Aim: To raise awareness of potential barriers to young people experiencing and engaging with STEM, and provide practical solutions to address these.
This session is brought to you in collaboration with Improving Gender Balance and Equalities team at Education Scotland. The session will examine the impact of gender and other stereotypes, as well as unconscious bias on ourselves and the young people we work with.
Why is it important? We will ask you to consider this in terms of wellbeing, participation in STEM and attainment. The session will contain plenty of practical strategies you can use with children and young people, as well as signposts to further reading and research.
This session is relevant for ALL STEM Ambassadors and having strategies for being an inclusive Ambassador is an essential part of your Ambassador toolkit.
This session is repeated on a regular occasion so if you are unable to attend this time around you can sign-up to a future session.
