About the Event
Aim: To give potential and new STEM Ambassador volunteers more information about the benefits of joining the programme and the steps required to becoming a STEM Ambassador.
The STEM Ambassadors Programme is a UK wide volunteer programme for people who are passionate about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) and wish to inspire young people. This volunteering can take many forms including working with schools, supporting youth groups, setting up STEM Clubs, mentoring and much more. STEM Ambassadors get access to lots of opportunities, free online training and networking sessions, access to STEM resources and support and advice from the STEM Ambassadors in Scotland Hub based at SSERC. We ensure that all STEM Ambassadors have a profile on the website (www.stem.org.uk), complete an online induction and PVG application prior to volunteering. For more information check out our website: www.stemambassadors.scot.
During the session the STEM Ambassador Hub team will introduce the programme, talk through the benefits and opportunities, highlight the process of becoming a STEM Ambassador, including the online induction and PVG application, and give you a chance to ask questions.
Everyone is welcome to join this session to learn more and there is no obligation to become a STEM Ambassador at the end of it.
Please note, the minimum age to become a STEM Ambassador is 17 years old and this session is only for people based in Scotland.
