The Global Science Show: STEM Ambassador Special

The Global Science Show is a virtual STEM festival run through Twitter that has an audience across the globe. Presenters share a slice of STEM through their Twitter account during their allocated time which is reshared to the Global Science Show Twitter account. For British Science Week we are running a STEM Ambassadors in Scotland (SAIS) special on Thursday 17 March.

This is a unique opportunity to volunteer as a STEM Ambassador!

What can I do?

There’s different ways to get involved in this year’s SAIS special to suit your time and interests:

Create a video: Create a short 2-minute video about you or an area of STEM that interests you.

Create a thread: Create a thread on Twitter of different content – think pictures, videos, polls, articles etc.

Create a profile: Complete a short Google form and have a profile graphic created for you which you can share on your Twitter:

Livestream interview: Participate in a livestreamed chat with the Global Science Show host. This takes just 15 minutes and all you need is a camera and a mic. This is a great option if you don’t have time to create something in advance.

Once you’ve shared your content, stick around to answer any questions or comments. Each STEM Ambassador will be allocated a 15-20 minute slot.

P.S. You don’t need your own Twitter account to get involved!

Is there training available?

The Global Science Show host and Science Communicator Sam Langford is running a special training session for STEM Ambassadors to help you create content, edit videos and generally participate in the show. The session is taking place on Tuesday 22 February, 16.00 – 17.30 and will also be recorded.

You can also check out the information session recording for more information.

What do I need to do next?

The first thing you need to do is express interest on the Global Science Show activity on the database. Then we’ll be in touch about training, organising your slot on the day and agreeing on what content you want to share.
